A Day in the Life - Jack's 2nd Birthday

Alternative Name

I can hardly believe it, but my dear friends, it's true...
In 4 short months my little man will turn 2!

Time is flying and I know his birthday will be here in the blink of an eye!  I swore, after months of planning his first birthday party, that his 2nd would be something low-key with just family and a few friends.  Now that his birthday is getting closer, I'm having a hard time doing only a small party!  Especially with all the party inspiration I find in the bloggy world!  Plus, my friend, Ashley, had a "petting zoo" themed party for her daughter and I've loved the idea ever since!  Although, I'm really hoping to hold the party at a petting zoo and not have one come to my house, but we'll see!  I'm loving these ideas I found on Parties and Pretties!

Sweet tea, lemonade and a wheelbarrow full of drinks?  Yes, please!

I LOVE these gingham table cloths!  And the wicker baskets for snacks!  So cute!

A hayride on neighborhood streets?  What a fantastic idea and I'm pretty certain we could make this happen!

Love the treat boxes - I did similar boxes last year for Jack's Beach Monkey Party.

I love this little craft idea, too. Cheap and easy and the kids get to take something home with them and watch it grow.  Perfect!

And this cake!  Need I say more?  I'm a sucker for an AMAZING cake and this one is just adorable!

I still have a few months before I have to decide for sure what route we'll go with Jack's party, but I'm loving the barnyard theme!

What do yall think?
What have you done for your kids' 2nd birthday parties?  I'm looking for suggestions!

We did a barnyard bash for our little guy's 1st birthday! It was so much fun! Here is a link to pictures from our blog...

I think barnyard theme is SO CUTE!! Do it :)
Parker's 2nd birthday was at our house, Dr. Seuss theme, it's in my blog from September of 2010. And Carson's was firetruck theme, we had his at the local fire station, the kiddos loved it.
I know you will do a great job with Jack's birthday, you are so crafty!

Love the theme. Hostess with the Mostess had a great barn yard theme party. You could do so much.

I can't believe you haven't started planning, LOL!!!

So cute! I think we'll have a theme party for GG's second but we are going to keep it low key after the huge first birthday!

Petting zoo does sound neat though.

I think the barnyard theme is a great idea, relaxed and approachable but with the flexibility to do so many things.
I did "all things bugs" for my oldest's 2nd birthday. This year we're doing gold mining for both boys as you know ;)

I love the whole idea Brandy!! You could do so many cute things at home to make it your own....but having it out would be so much easier!! And that cake is awesome!! Anthony is going to be 2 at the end of the month and Christopher will be 5 on 4/1...so I am celebrating them together. It is really more of a party for Christopher since Anthony doesn't really have any friends...LOL!

Love the barnyard idea! All your ideas/inspiration are so cute!

I'm planning my son's 2nd birthday right now as well. He loves dogs so we are going with a puppy dog party theme where everyone will get to adopt a beanie baby puppy dog & a couple small accessories. Then we'll serve hot dogs and puppy cupcakes.

I am loving that cake. The idea of that would be enough to persuade me to go barnyard party all the way. Happy planning!

These are great ideas and I love the idea of a hayride! We throw some hay on a trailer and pull it around with a truck at our Fall Festival at church every year. It's so easy and the kids go NUTS for it!

Argh. I just left a long comment and Blogger ate it! Long story short - I love the barnyard theme, and if I ever have a boy I am SO using it! Also, I love your blog design. The fonts and colors are cute, and everything is easy to find and not cluttered. Love, love, love.

(My original comment was not more clever than this, I assure you. But it was longer.) ;)

Aww, those are great ideas! I think we're doing a similar theme for my daughter's second birthday. She and your little man are just days apart, I believe. Her birthday is July 9th.

That is funny that you just put this up here. I was thinking today about Chase's birthday and how I would like to have the kids plant seeds in pots to take home. Ha. No blog inspiration needed....just spring time :O). I love all of the farm decor. Too cute! I am sure he will have a GREAT party!

Maintain your automatic coffee maker clean with white vinegar. Run a brewing cycle with one particular component water to one element white vinegar. After enabling the carafe to soak inside the vinegar for a although best cheap coffee machines , run a cycle with plain water to rinse the machine. Clean your coffee maker once each and every week or two to eliminate rancid coffee oils, mold and also other contaminants.

For anyone who is living alone the best coffee machines , or would be the only 1 in your family who drinks coffee, think about getting a single-serve coffee maker. Firms for example Keurig have developed coffee makers that use a coffee pod, a single serving of coffee grounds within a little container that fits inside the machine. This kind of coffee maker can also be useful in the event you prefer to drink a distinct flavor of coffee daily. Rinse off your coffee filter just before putting it inside in the coffee maker. The coffee filters could have fibers or plastic on them when you take them out with the plastic packaging. When you leave these items to the filter, they're going to end up within your coffee when it brews.
