H-A double L-O-W double E-N spells Halloween!

We went to a friend's kid's birthday party and they had a cute little pumpkin patch set up out in front of their house.  If one pumpkin is good, don't you think 2... or 3 would be better?!  Jack had fun picking out his pumpkins and decorating them with wiggle eyes, stickers, markers and lots of other goodies!

This was Jack's first year to carve a pumpkin and let's just say he wasn't quite sure about all the pumpkin guts!  I thought he would dig right in and love playing with all that slimy nastiness, but he wouldn't even touch it!  Thank goodness Daddy jumped in and saved the day!

My little firefighter!  He was not happy about wearing the hat, despite the fact that he usually loves silly hats.  He kept telling me it was weird.  Everything he doesn't want to wear these days ends up being weird.  Some days I swear my 3 year old is already 13!

Jack didn't really like going up to people's houses, but he loved the candy and running around with the big kids.  Monsters Reese and Carson didn't even scare him!

Happy Halloween!

Miscellany Monday

miscellany monday at lowercase letters

I haven't linked up with Carissa in FOREVER, but I'm feeling really random today and all over the place.

{one}  Mexican Food

I love it and luckily so does Jack!  His favorite at a real sit down restaurant is a beef enchilada with chili con carne, refried beans and charro beans.

His favorite fast food Mexican joint is Taco Bueno (or Taco Beano, as he says) and it's only fitting since I ate that almost every. single. day. when I was pregnant.  He loves the party tacos and party burritos and he got his first taste of the MexiDip and Chips combo yesterday and LOVED it!

{two} Playing at the Park

{three} Sunfire Creative

My Etsy shop is still open and going well.  I wish I had more time to sew and more time to devote to it, but the truth is there are more important things going on right now.  I give myself plenty of time to complete orders and try to balance Etsy, work, and family and I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job, despite the huge pile of laundry waiting to be folded!

{four} Art

I'm loving the colored cotton balls Jack picked up at JoAnn's last week!  This is the BEST craft we've tried yet - very little mess!

{five} A New Jack

I noticed Jack was using the ball popper like a jack to raise up his car and when I asked what he was doing, that's exactly what he told me.  Then proceeded to tell me that he needed Daddy's jack.  I explained that might be a little big for his car, well come to find out, Daddy had a mini jack just Jack's size!  He has played with this thing NON-STOP for the past week.  Think he's watched his daddy work on a car or two?

{six} Getting Cold

I am not a fan of the cold at all, but there's something so sweet about this little boy all bundled up!  He still looks like such a baby in this picture and I love it!  He's growing up way too fast!

Mother's Day Weekend 2012

Better late than never...

It's been so long since these pictures were taken, that Jack has outgrown those shoes, almost outgrown the shirts and the shorts no longer look like man capris!  Ha!  Those little brown shoes are Sperry's and I love them!  Unfortunately, Jack wouldn't leave them tied so he didn't wear them much.  So cute though!

Racing and Winnie Clean

Jack LOVES racing!  I think he always has.  I can't remember how old he was when we first took him to the track (it was my first time too), but he was young, maybe 2 or 3 months old.

It is so fun for me to watch him get so excited to see the cars go "FAST, FAST!"  He wants to watch every single car go down the track and watch everything that's being done to the car.  If he was just a little bigger, I'm sure he'd being doing all the work himself!

One weekend we didn't take Jack with us because it was just too hot.  We told him we were having "date night" but he knew we were going to the races and even asked the next day why the hood was back on the car because it had been off the day before.  Nothing gets by this little one!

Cooling off in the trailer with the kids.

Jack working on his race car.  He is so funny!  He told me last night that Winnie Clean was going to come over and help him work on his car.  He kept telling me that "he was his daughter" and that she was a girl.  She was also BIG, BIG!  She was going to bring him new tires so his car would go "FAST, FAST" and she was only going to be at our house for 2 seconds, so she couldn't stay for dinner.  He said they went to eat at some restaurant (I can't remember what he called it) but he had a hamburger with rice on it.  Oh my goodness, he is so funny!  I  love it when he tells stories and I ask questions and he just keeps going.  It is amazing how their little minds work.  I wonder if Winnie Clean is coming over tonight?

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Friday we took Jack to his first Ranger game!  He was excited to go to the Ballpark and I think he had a good time!  He LOVES baseball.

If you're at the Ballpark, you must enjoy a hot dog and boy did he ever!  He ate every last bite and washed it all down with some lemonade.  Perfect for a hot summer evening.

Sweet friends, Reese and CJ.

Reese was even nice enough to share his Lemon Chill with Jack.  Yum!  You can see from the video that Jack was loving every bite!

Family Photo Session 2012 - Sneak Peek

If you're in the Dallas area and need a good family photographer, she's your girl!  Super sweet, calm, laid back, amazing...  Need I say more?  If these were the only good photos we got, the session would still totally be worth it!  We left there feeling good about taking family pictures, and that rarely happens, not to mention it was close to 100 degrees that day!!

Jack's 3rd Birthday Party

We celebrated Jack's 3rd birthday party at the Gentle Zoo in Forney.  I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived that there was a room with A/C set up for our party!  I was expecting to be outdoors with little shade, but there was a large shaded area with picnic tables near the petting zoo.  It was perfect!

Jack and everyone else had so much fun feeding the animals.  I think we went through about 10 buckets of food!

There was a tractor train that took everyone for a tour of the zoo.  They have corn guns, a bounce house, playground and the petting zoo.  They also offer pony rides, but their pony was a little under the weather the day we were there.

We had a good time with friends and family!  And I will definitely be visiting the Gentle Zoo again soon!  Maybe when it cools down a little.

The party continued at our house with gifts.  My card was full, so I don't have any pictures of Jack opening gifts, but lets just say there are A LOT of new toys at our house!

The kids were so funny riding on Jack's new Mini Mustang!  They looked like they were riding in a parade.  HA!

Waiting for Daddy to bring out his BIG gift from us...

It'll be a while before he can ride on his own, but he's having fun riding that "big 'ol motorcycle" with his Daddy!

Overall, it was a great Birthday Party Day!
